6 stages in the manufacture of our 80T presses
At EMG, we manufacture our presses from A to Z. In this article, we focus on the production of our 80T presses. Theye are manufactured by serial of 5.
1. Mechanical welding of the frame
The frame is made of high-quality mechanically welded steel with a swan-neck structure. Generously dimensioned sides, joined by regular weld seams, ensure exceptional rigidity and resistance to cutting shocks, even during intensive use.
An additional metal sheet is welded to the inside of each sidewall.
The oxycutting is supplied by a partner based 50km from our factory to minimize our carbon footprint.

2. Machining the frame
The frame is manufactured on a large CNC milling machine with a dividing table. This means that the 5 sides can be machined without having to dismantle the frame.
The geometry of the crankshaft, slides, etc. is extremely precise, as it corresponds to the geometry of the milling machine.
The rear bronze slides are mounted on the frame parallel to the cycle, so that they can be machined in the same operation. This ensures excellent slide/table geometry.

3. The manufacture of press parts
During the production of the frame, the main component of a press, our teams work on the other parts that make the machine. Crankshafts, slides, connecting rods and ball screws are machined in our workshops with great care and rigour.
Quality is a constant aim at EMG.

4. Final painting
This is an important stage because it is the 1st impression that our customer will receive.
To offer an irreproachable quality of paint, a complete shot-blasting of the press is carried out and a primer paint is applied before machining to avoid the lubricant getting impregnated into the material.
This makes degreasing easier and improves the adhesion of the final paint.
At EMG, we can produce the press in the colour of your choice.

5. Assembly
Once all the parts making up the 80t press have been completed, we start assembling the machine.
A team of mechanical adjusters, electricians and automation specialists work meticulously to assemble the press, whether it's standard or customized to our customers' requirements.

6. Customer relations
The 80t mechanical press is now finished and will be delivered to our customer. It has taken between 3 and 7 months since the order was placed. We must not forget the people who work behind the scenes - without them, nothing would be possible!
The manufacture of a press also requires the involvement of many people, upstream during the design and price quotations or downstream during transport, commissioning, training, after-sales service / technical support, invoicing and accounting...
All these steps are necessary to manufacture a 80T presses. We attach great importance to a weel done job, so put your trust in EMG Presses!
